God’s Parts
Internal Family Systems & the Path of Awakening
With Guthrie Sayen & Paige Britt
Saturday, October 28, 2023 - 9:00a - 4:00p
4601 Spicewood Springs Rd, BLDG 4, Suite 200, Austin, TX
Internal Family Systems is a psychotherapy model that helps people heal their wounded inner parts by helping them access the energy and wisdom of their core Self.
It’s a powerful tool for healing.
It’s also a tool of awakening…
God, Spirit, Universal Being—we all have different names for the sacred. Our workshop will focus on the role this great mystery plays in IFS.
The fundamental principle of IFS is simple…
We all have many parts, or subpersonalities—each with its own gift and many with wounds. IFS helps you to heal your wounded parts by bringing them into relationship with Self, your enlightened core, which is naturally wise, good, and loving.
But what if you—in all your multiplicity—were also a part?
What if you didn't just have an internal system but were a part in an eternal system. . . .
What if you were God's part?
Join us as we explore how Internal Family Systems can be used as a paradigm for both healing and awakening. The workshop will focus on:
Understanding and experiencing the multistep process of the IFS model
How to distinguish among and work with the three kinds of parts—managers, firefighters, and exiles
How to gain more access to Self by increasing the relational resonance between your system and the system you are working with
We will also explore ways of moving out of the inner realm and into the divine realm by learning how to:
Shift from the physical body into the subtle energy body
How to access and amplify Self energy while in the subtle energy body
Allow Self energy to dissolve and metabolize your parts and reorganize your system around Itself

Paige Britt, MA
I first learned about the IFS model from my Zen teachers, Peg Syverson and Flint Sparks. It aligned closely with my own inner experience, so I began to study it—taking classes from Dick Schwartz, Loch Kelly, and eventually Guthrie. I’ve been using IFS as a part of my healing practice now for ten years and have expanded on it in my own way—exploring what happens when you treat parts as a conceptual overlay to a pattern of energy. What happens if instead of “getting a little space” from your part (which is often the instruction), you got a lot of space? What I noticed is that parts reconfigure on their own, organizing around love and wholeness instead of wounds. It's an extraordinary process to experience and one I am called to offer now!
